Visiting Northern Michigan
We decided to visit Northern Michigan this week since my husband and I haven’t been up that way in a very long time. We are visiting Sault Saint Marie (about 6 hours north of Grand Rapids in the Upper Penninsula) today and I have been loving the character of the old downtown area. There are many old signs that I can’t help but photograph. The one above is my favorite.

Here is another pic from the walk I took with my daughter yesterday. I have photographed this tree over the last 15 years or so. It was featured in a photograph of mine on the cover of a local arts magazine, On-the-Town, about 12 years ago. Half of the tree is living, and half is dead. I’ll post some photos of it later this spring when the leaves fill in. It is hauntingly elegant.
Sign of Spring
My daughter and I like to take walks this time of year when the weather starts to (finally) warm up. Besides the snow melting this is a sure sign that Spring is on its way.
